I Love the 80s, Sneaker Edition

Nike is continuing on their Flight 89 pace they've been on this year. Starting with the classic Agassi's this spring then the grape/orange Flight 89, and now these. The Nike "Bright Cactus" Flight 89s. With dark blue patent leather around the toes to the back, the classic high lying Nike check and accents of a bright cactus color, these shoes have the right style. The combination of the blue and bright green are in perfect contrast and make a truly good looking sneaker. They are available online as well as some urban wear stores with Nike accounts, but don't go looking to a foot locker to find these kicks.

But the shoe that really got me going was inspired by a nightmare. The Nike SBs, a staple at skate parks around the country since its initial release in 2002. The SBs not only give the support that skaters need but also bring the Nike edge to the board. But on the flip side of that, the SBs have become a channel to bring the skateboard style to Nike. Well these release is exactly that.

The new "Freddy Krueger" SBs are set to release this fall as a tribute to our buddy over on Elm Street. The SBs feature a sweater material and the same striped colorway that Kruger rocked on that red/green striped sweater. These shoes don't stop there though, they have a Metallic silver Swoosh that represents Freddy’s Metal Claw, and a Brown leather blood stained trim that represents Freddy’s trademark hat.

So there it is, some new fresh kicks that take us back to the days of Bird and Magic. Sneaks that take us back to flattops and rope chains. Do it up, take care of yourself, and last and not least, good luck and stay fresh.
